各位老师好，我在一节网课上看到这个句子，网课中说用到命令（commands/requests）的语气时或许会涉及到这部分常识
请问这个句子是对的吗？为何用be呢？我对这种语法现象一无所知。
烦请老师解说，最好能给出例子
在 It is/was essential that 后面的句子中，谓语动词应该用“should + 动词原形”，should 可以省略。It 是形式主语，essential是表语，that引导一个主语从句。
be on time to work 的意思是“按时上班”。又如：
It isessentialthat you give me all the information at your disposal.你把你手里的所有数据都给我是必要的。（摘自《刘毅英语语秘籍典》p.374）
